Spring is a time of Creation, we can see it all around us.
After a long winter of dismal dread, sorrow, hard work and personal injury, I am ready for Spring Creations. The flowers peaking through our garden are a joy of nature. We inherited a potpourri of returning growth from the previous owners, and each year we are surprised to see what we see.
This Post is about creations and Creating.
Maybe I will create a culinary surprise, build a project out back or think up a new tale or poem. It is Spring let's get creating!

"Two of a Kind" an original Creation story.
9 years ago I attempted to create a story that explained a complex medical issue to children. I have posted the latest revision here for your consideration.

Two of a Kind!
Two of
a Kind
By
Vernon L. Cox “Learnin’ Vernon”
Not so
long ago, in a place closer than one would think, there lived two
little Tadpoles.
Each
had their own little Pond fed by crystal blue streams and brooks.
That was a good thing; for you see little Tadpoles need lots of
water.
The
Water protects them and feeds them so they can grow.
They
looked the same; they both had big lips, eyes that sparkle and little
bodies that were growing.
Their
Mommy and Daddy were so happy to have not only one but two special
tadpoles that they could love and share their lives with.
The
Daddy could not wait to take them out and. explore the swamp with his
boys.
He
sang out to them every night from the pond.
” I
can't wait to meet you.
I love you so much.
I want to protect
you.
I'll never give up.
Never,
Never, give-Up!
Mommy
thought how nice it would be to teach them to swallow flies on their
tongues and have company when she hopped from lily pad to lily pad.
She sat at the edge of the pond and sang
” I
can't wait to greet you.
I love you so much.
I want to teach
you.
to never give up.
Never, Never, give-Up!
But
the tadpoles were too small to see Mommy and Daddy so the whole
family would have to wait as the tadpoles grew.
As
time went on the Tadpole called Tewmuch started to grow, and grow
faster than his body could keep up. The other Tadpole stopped growing
and was becoming weak. He was named Tewlittle.
The
stream that fed Tewmuch’s pond ran out of Tewlittle.’s pond. This
shared stream was draining Tewlittle.’s pond.
Tewlittle.
was getting cramped!
He had
very little room to move and very little food to make him strong.
This shared stream was also making Tewmuch’s pond flood with too
much water. He had too much food and was growing too fast.
Their
Mommy and Daddy worried and cried because both of their little
tadpoles became very sick. The Mommy frog would sit at the pond at
night under the moon and sing her song to all that could hear it
especially her tadpoles so close but so far away!
”I
can't wait to greet you.
I love you so much.
I want to teach
you.
to never give up.
Never, Never, give-Up!
Every
night the Daddy frog would croak along in a deep voice out over the
country side for all to hear
” I
can't wait to meet you.
I love you so much.
I want to protect
you.
I'll never give up.
Never,
Never, give-Up!
Mommies
and Daddies can do almost anything but sometimes they need help. This
was one of those times.
A call
went out to all the animals throughout the kingdom to see what could
be done to help the Frog family.
Raccoon
said” Tewlittle.’s pond could dry up and that would be a bad
thing because he would have no water to protect him and help him grow
up like other tadpoles. “
Otter
shook his head.” Tewmuch’s pond may keep over feeding him until
he too will become very sick and there is nothing we can do about
it.”
Mommy
and Daddy did not give up; they kept calling out for help!
Each
night they would sit at the edge of the pond and together each parent
sang their song.
” I
can't wait to greet you.
I love you so much.
I want to teach
you.
to never give up.
Never, Never, give-Up!
”I
can't wait to meet you.
I love you so much.
I want to protect
you.
I'll never give up.
Never,
Never, give-Up!
The animals had no idea how to help the Frog
family and the whole country side was sad.
One
night as they sang their song an Owl Flew to them.
“I
have heard of a beaver in a distant land that may be able to help
you.”
The
Owl turned his head and flew, and flew, all the way to Florida.
The
Owl told Prince Quintero about the Frog family’s cry for help.
Prince
Quintero was a very busy beaver who lived in a land surrounded by
three sides of water.
In
Florida the prince had become the best at making dams and opening new
streams for tadpoles just like our friends Tewmuch and his brother
Tewlittle.
Prince
Quintero made a dam for Tewlittle’s stream stopping it from
draining into his brother’s pond. All the other streams and brooks
worked just fine.
Without
losing so much water Tewlittle. grew, and grew almost as big as his
brother. Tewmuch grew as well but not too fast or too slow, just as
much as a tadpole needed to grow for his journey down the river to
the lake.
It was
a long journey for both tadpoles down the stream to the lake where
they swam and swam. Soon they could hear sounds up out of the water
asking them to come up on the beach of a large Island with a bright
sun.
“Come
Tewmuch join us.” said a voice.” Come Tewlittle. we have been
waiting for you.” called out another distant voice.
Then
both tadpoles heard two voices singing their special songs.
” I
can't wait to greet you.
I love you so much.
I want to teach
you.
to never give up.
Never, Never, give-Up!
” I
can't wait to meet you.
I love you so much.
I want to protect
you.
I'll never give up.
Never,
Never, give-Up!
The
two tadpoles swam on the sand and it felt strange, so they returned
to the lake. Soon they tried again and this time they stayed a little
longer. As they felt the warm Sun dry their skin and make their
movement difficult, they again returned to their lake.
Each
time they visited the Island they stayed longer and longer on the
beach. Until one day they hopped onto the Island and saw their Mommy
and Daddy crying tears of joy. Mommy was so happy to have her family
together for the first time, not separated by small ponds or a lake.
Tewmuch
and Tewlittle had become 2 special frogs that are 2 of a Kind. They
both could live out of water and did not need to stay in water to
grow.
But of
course they may need a bath from time to time. Someday they may just
want to go for a swim with their Mommy and Daddy just for fun!
Each
night the whole Frog family would sit by the lake and sing their new
song.
” We
are so glad we met you.
We love you so much.
We will teach and
protect you.
To never give up, We never gave up, We never never
gave up!.”
They
all Lived
And we
were happy for ever after.
